The Tattoo Scene Today: A Look at Different Aspects of the Industry

Tattoos have been a part of human culture for thousands of years, but in recent decades, they have become increasingly popular and mainstream (something that I don’t really agree 100%). Today, the tattoo scene is more diverse and dynamic than ever before, with a range of styles, artists, and techniques to choose from. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the different aspects of the tattoo scene today and what makes it such an exciting and vibrant industry, that I don’t know how far it will go in the coming years with the AI coming and waiting for us in the corner.

  1. Tattoo Styles: One of the most significant developments in the tattoo scene in recent years is the diversity of styles available. From traditional styles like American Traditional, Japanese, and Tribal to more contemporary styles like Blackwork, Neo-Traditional, Neo-Tribal,  or Realism, there is something for everyone. Some tattoo artists even combine different styles to create a unique look. Tattoo enthusiasts have more choices than ever before, and this has led to an explosion of creativity in the industry.
  2. Tattooers and Tattoo Artists: Another aspect of the tattoo scene that has evolved in recent years is the recognition of tattoo artists as legitimate artists, but in my opinion, tattooing always been more a CRAFTSMANSHIP than a proper art itself, and in some way, it should be respected and seen on this way, even with the different aspects and evolution of TATTOOING, because some of the new tattooers around the globe, don’t even known about the roots, the names, the people who sacrificed a lot of themselves to be in the point that we are today.Gone are the days when tattooing was considered a fringe or subculture activity, which still like that in some scenes (thankfully). Today, tattoo artists are respected for their skill, talent, and creativity. The rise of social media has also given tattoo artists a platform to showcase their work to a global audience, but, in some way is pushing the tattooers and tattoo artists to be producing sometimes with no sense, looks like if you don’t upload content on instagram or in whatever social media platform, you don’t exist anymore…I mean, all these amazing paintings, designs, or creative ideas from different artists and creators in the past have been made in a rush?

  3. Tattoo Technology: Tattooing has come a long way since its early days, and technology has played a significant role in its evolution. Modern tattoo machines are more precise, reliable, and efficient than ever before, making it easier for artists to create intricate designs (sometimes it’s not ok, because some people think that tattooing is like if you were working on paper, or in some canvas, and the skin and body it’s a completely different thing that it needs to be understood and studied properly, to understand TATTOOING).In some way, lots of people are approaching to tattooing without understanding the study, sacrifice, effort that it’s involved, and the worst part, some of them don’t even want to do it.Tattoo removal technology has also improved, making it easier and less painful to remove unwanted tattoos.
  4. Tattoo Culture: Tattooing has always been associated with a particular culture, but that culture has expanded and diversified in recent years.Tattoos are no longer just for bikers, punks, or sailors. People from all walks of life, including professionals, athletes etc, have tattoos. Tattoos have become a way for people to express themselves, tell their stories, and celebrate their identities.

In conclusion, the tattoo scene today is a reflection of the diversity, creativity, and innovation of modern society. Tattooing has evolved from a subculture activity to a mainstream art form, with a range of styles, artists, and technologies to choose from. Whether you’re a first-time tattoo enthusiast or a seasoned collector, the tattoo scene offers something for everyone. So, what are you waiting for?
